Item Details

Description

A **RARE** no. 39, twisted wire, fixed base, bell bottom model made by the Defiance Lantern & Stamping Co. for the Duluth, Rainy Lake & Winnipeg Railway. The lid reflector is nicely embossed "D.R.L.&W.Ry." over the hinge area. The insert fount is correct for this model and has a shrouded no. 1, light oil, functioning ratchet burner affixed. The globe is a real nice no. 39, extended base type, and is flashed red. Color translucence is a little on the dark side. The globe is nicely etched "D. R. L. & W." in a known stencil font. The lid has a few areas where the patina has been rubbed off, but no apparent repair or damage can be seen. The metal is mostly smooth with some sparse, light surface etching here and there. This is a real nice unit and generally display-ready. Condition: (Excellent). Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 15".
