Description
Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Pacific Slope, Boruca Indians, ca. 1300 CE. This is a trio of delightful small pottery whistles, one in the form of a standing, probably pregnant, human figure; the other two shaped like small passerine birds. All have red and black painted slip over reddish clay. Size of largest: 2.75" H (7 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Kugler collection, acquired in 1969
