Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. An adorable redware pottery vessel in the form of an endearing round-bottomed, baby bird with its head raised an beak open, calling for food from its mama. Note the petite wings applied to either side, not to mention that nubby tail. A remarkable handbuilt and modeled form of gorgeous redware with a lovely burnished finish, perfect for any bird watchers out there! Size: 4.5" W x 4" H (11.4 cm x 10.2 cm)
