Description
This steel helmet is decorated with brass in the shape of flowers and laurels along the front, a medallion at the center of a star burst stating "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" which translates to "Shame on whosoever things badly of it." At the top is a white plume. A leather strap with interlocking brass circles goes from ears to lower lip.

History: Originally a cavalry regiment, after extensive use in World War One, the Royal Life Guards became a Machine Gun battalion in 1918. They were subsequently used in the Normandy landings as well as the push through France to liberate Brussels in World War Two. They joined as a union with the Blues and Royals in 1992.
