Mexico, probably Guerrero, early 20th century CE. This is a painted wood mask with red and gold colors and sky blue eyes; the figure it portrays is famous from the Dance of the Moors, a traditional dance performed in Mexico into the 21st century. This is the character of the Moro Pasion, the Suffering Moor. Size: 8.75" L x 5.75" W x 7.25" H (22.2 cm x 14.6 cm x 18.4 cm)
