Sepik River, Papua New Guinea (PNG), ca. middle 20th century. Blackware pottery figural vessel depicting a seated elder, holding his left hand to his chin, right hand to his chest, legs crossed. Rear tapered spout with a strap handle. Incised wrinkles on both cheeks. Good metallic surface with scattered root marks. Size: 6.5" H (16.5 cm)
