** A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit The Fowler Museum at UCLA **Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. This is a seated hollow pottery figure of a woman with a long face, sitting kneeled down, with her thin carved feet visible on the bottom of the figure. The woman wears large spooled earrings and a big red headdress; her shoulders are decorated with slightly raised bumps, which is a characteristic of Jalisco figures from that time period and which have been interpreted as ritual scars. Size: 7.5" W x 8" H (19 cm x 20.3 cm)
