Mexico, Colima region, 100 BCE to 250 CE. Rare and adorable pottery deer head vessel having a long tapered snout, short pointed antlers, ears pulled back. Vessel opening in the center top of head. Scattered areas of mineral deposits on the surface. Size: 7" L x 3.75" H (17.8 cm x 9.5 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Nevada collection, ex. Dr. David Harner collection, Arkansas, 1950s-60s.
