Description
Middle East, Iran, Luristan culture, ca. 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. An impressive bronze cast axe head with a rather long flat blade that flares at both ends, an oval-shaped, ribbed shaft, with a butt cast in the form of a downward curving beak. The shaft and butt come together to give the impression of a bird head. Gorgeous green patina! Size: 9"L (23 cm).
