ENGLISH TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF SEVEN, comprising one compote, two oval dishes with scalloped rims, and four plates, all having a brown printed foliate design with cherubs and angels depicting the four season, overpainted with green and outlined with gilding. All marked with brown transfer "COPELAND / AND / GARRETT / STOKE UPON TRENT / & / LONDON" and the compote and dishes also impressed "COPELAND & GARRETT / LATE SPODE / 20", plates impressed "COPELAND / & GARRETT / 3". Copeland & Garrett, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. 1833-1847. Compote 6 3/4"x 10 1/4"x11 1/2", dishes 11" x 8 5/8", plate 8 1/2" D.
Good condition overall. Compote is undamaged, dishes have several flakes to the underside of the rims and one with a hairline crack at the rim one plate with a hairline crack at the rim.
