Proguli likvidirovat’ polnost’yu! [Eliminate Absenteeism Completely!], a poster by Sergei Igumnov (1900-1942). Published by Iskusstvo, Moscow-Leningrad, 1941, 58 x 86.5 cm.
The poster, in all likelihood, was published early in the year and predates the start of the Great Patriotic War. Igumnov, who started his art studies before the revolution a the prestigious Stroganov Industrial Arts School, and later attended SVOMAS/VKHUTEMAS, worked primarily in the field of advertising, and held one of the most desirable positions in that field, of artistic director with the All-Union Chamber of Trade. The artist was killed at the front in 1942.
