A JAPANESE IMARI POLYCHROME PAINTED EARTHENWARE JARDINIÈRE, IMPRESSED CHARACTER MARKS, LATE 20TH CENTURY, of circular bombé form and painted in traditional palate with a flat rim enclosing shaped oval reserves of leafy lotus blooms alternating panels of basket weave, fretwork and scaly decoration, above a ruyi banded collar and sides of blossoming lotus foliage over a base rim of continuous sawtooth details, parcel gilt highlights throughout, impressed character mark cartouche on underside.
