Description
Pre-Columbian, Moche, Peru, ca. 400 CE. This is a handsome terracotta stirrup-spouted vessel with a cream ground and painted geometric patterning. Pieces like these were often used for holding sacred fermented liquids, used in ceremonies or placed in graves as offerings. Size: 5.5" W x 7.5" H (14 cm x 19 cm).
