Description
Pre-Columbian, probably Mayan, ca. 250 to 900 CE. This is a round, buffed terra cotta jar with a pronounced rim that is in the shape of a portly man or possibly a man carrying something on his back. He has long looping arms with small holes at the top that may have allowed the pot to be hung suspended and his legs serve as two parts of the tripod. He waers large earrings and has a headdress. Size: 5" H x 4-1/4" W (13 cm x 11 cm).

Condition
This piece has cracked along the bottom and been repaired but the repair is very clean and the piece appears intact. There is manganese staining on the back and lower body.
