Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A beautiful, hand-built anthropomorphic seated female figure with delineated legs, rotund thighs, a slender waist, and sinuous arms. She exhibits a characteristic heart-shaped head with a minimalist visage comprised of coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a petite nose adorned with a nose ring, perforated hooped ears near her neck, and a small slit mouth. Her body is detailed with red-painted details atop a cream-hued ground. Interestingly, this polydactyly example displays six stylized toes, rather than five, on each of her broad feet. Both legs and one arm reattached to torso with light adhesive residue along break lines. Expected age-commensurate surface wear, with roughness and small nicks to legs, body, and head. Fading to pigmentation, otherwise very good. Nice earthen and mineral deposits throughout.
