Description
Pre-Columbian, South America, Venezuela, ca. 700 to 1200 CE. A rare and beautifully decorated anthropomorphic seated terracotta vessel, the figure depicted holding a small offering bowl with both hands. Simple incised facial features, applied and incised necklace. Painted red-brown and white linear surface decoration. Size: 6-1/4" x 4-1/2" at widest (15.9 x 11.4 cm)

Expected surface wear with minimal paint loss. Repaired on back side - original pieces reattached. Minor nicks and abrasion to the rim. Left ear restored. Tiny nick on right ear. Overall a nice representation.
