Description
A Near Eastern terracotta female fertility figure, c. 2nd Millennium BC, similar to the cultus figures of Artemis Ephesia from Ephesus, with columnar body and egg-like protuberances on the front of her abdomen, her hands at the sides of her belly and wearing a domed headdress. The front of her legs are flattened and divided into three vertical rows of squares, each containing a symbol or letter. H: 4 1/8 in (10.5 cm). Frontally molded and quite interesting. Ex collection of Dr. Michael A Telson.
