Description
Far East, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A finely carved jade spotted frog that may be worn as a pendant (perforation between front feet). This froggie presents an endearing pose; notice how its front webbed feet are linked together. The stone itself boasts a gorgeous golden hue with deep red inclusions in some areas. Size: 1.5" L x 1.25" W x 1.125" H (3.8 cm x 3.2 cm x 2.9 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Paul and Louise Bernheimer collection, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA., acquired before 1980.
