Five volumes. As can be seen from the photos, each of the volumes, have been rebound in half leather with cloth covered boards. They each measure approx 21.6cm x 13.5cm x 7.5cm (ave). The bindings are a bit grubby and worn, with some scattered ink stains and splashes. The leather covering to the spine of volume II is creased and cracking (only leather cracking, not contents). Almost all the hinges are cracking/splitting, more so to the top boards of a couple of the volumes, whose boards are loosening and shaky, and spine coverings peeling to bottom to a couple of the volumes. The top of the spine covering of volume 5 has been stuck down with adhesive, although the volume is not a tight back. The extremities of all the volumes are worn and a little bumped. Internally, there is a previous owner's details and writing, in ink and pencil, to the front free endpaper in each volume. The contents of each of the volumes have some light browning and toning throughout. The browning is heavier to some of the volumes, and some sections, and title pages. Each of the volumes has foxing scattered throughout, again heavier in some sections, to a couple of the volumes and the first and last few leaves. In volume I, one of the prelims has a small tear to the top margi, and one is nicked to the fore edge. Throughout the set, there are a few scattered grubby fore edge margins, the odd page edge nick, and paper flaw to fore edge. A few leaves sit a little proudly in volume I where they have been opened carelessly. There is the odd grubby mark or minor spot or crease. On the whole, the contents of each are in reasonable and readable condition throughout......Volume Parts 1 & 2 Title page [iii]-cxxiv, [1], [1]-427, title page, [1]-457.....Volume II Part 1 & II Title page, [1], [1]-555, 1 page, [1], 1-359, 1 page......Volume III Parts 1 & II Title page, [1], [1]-539, 1 page, title page, [1], [1]-420......Volume IV Part 1 & II Title page, [1], [1]-432, title page, [1], 1-419, 1 page.....Volume V Parts I & II Title page, [iii]-iv, [1]-583, [1], title page, [2], [1]-530..... 5 volume (10 parts) set, of the works of Plutarch, edited by the great German Swiss Scholar Daniel Albert Wyttenbach.
