Description
Rome, ca. 100 CE. This is a small cast bronze statue of the goddess Fortuna, known to bring luck (either good or bad!) and fortune. She represented the capriciousness of life. A small statue like this one might have been carried by a member of her cult. It depicts her as a woman in flowing robes with a feathered headdress and an elaborate staff. Size: 2.25" W x 3.75" H (5.7 cm x 9.5 cm).
