Item Details
Description
Two Kwoma Washkuk Palm panels, Kwoma Washkuk; Papua New Guinea

The panels painted on palm spathes in native pigments of black, red, yellow and white, one with a pair of opposing faces and linear patterns, the other with three circular designs with stylized faces inside. The reverse of one panel with the word 'Vero' painted on. Panels of this type were used to decorate the inside interior of men's houses among the Washkuk and other peoples.
