A Pair of John Winter & Co. George III Weighted Silver Ram's Head Candlesticks, Sheffield, England, circa 1776
Marks: (lion passant), (crown), R, IW & Co
11-1/2 inches high (29.2 cm)

The two candlesticks each with removable bobeches, fluted column candle cup, Greek key border, stem with figural ram's head mounts, continuous garland held in ram's mouths, fluted tapered column with vertical banding to hooved feet, raised on platform, curved base with swag, urn, and cartouche embellishments, bordered by acanthus leaf design, on raised platform.

Condition

Dents and warping to bases, crack to candle cup, pieces are weighted, otherwise with surface scratches commensurate with age and use.
