Description
Egypt, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18 to 20, ca. 1570 to 1069 BCE. One of the finest pieces offered in this auction! Very large and wonderfully rendered high relief sculpture of the Goddess Hathor. Hathor was often shown as a woman with the ears of a cow, and often a solar disc upon her head. She was revered as the goddess of love, music and joy. Interestingly, there is a small area of ancient scrafito on her left cheek. Size: 23"H x 21"W x 8" deep + museum-quality custom base. **IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to size/weight of the piece, crating will be required. Please inquire about shipping charges before bidding.
