Description
A woman's headdress, Yemen, probably Al Baydha, circa 1900, the silver metal platelets inset with red semi-precious stones, triangular pendant, lined in leather, 28cm diam; together with a long Bedouin veil or burqa adorned with coins and tassels, (2)
Condition
There is only one pendant – back is fairly plain and there are 3 holes each side, possibly for making size adjustments. It’s fairly crudely cut leather. Indigo cotton on the veil is faded.
