RARE HUNTLEY & PALMER PATRIOTIC “SENTRIES” BISCUIT TIN, 1914
The second of the "Sentry" tins put forth by Huntley & Palmer. The earlier 1909 version featured a German soldier in lieu of the Belgian sentry, however following the outbreak of 'The Great War' in 1914, the companies patriotism took priority. The rectangular tower with a pointed pyramid hinged lid, marked on the underside, and decorated with national flags, the body embossed from within to depict English, Russian, French and Belgian security personnel in iconic national attire.
