Surveyor's Compass "Delagrave, Paris", "Systme du Colonel Peign", French, 2 3/4 in. printed card, wood and brass.A historic WWI era compass clinometer or the boussole alidade, this instruments were used in artillery, with extensive instructions in French on both top and bottom of the closed instrument. The compass base holds the compass/clinometer, in very good working condition, points North easily. Compass is marked Systeme du COLONEL PEIGNE. The whole instrument is in great condition and would make a nice gift for someone special or a collector.Material: wood, brass, glassWooden square case measures: 90 mm x 90 mm (3.54" x 3.54").Compass measures: 70 mm (2.75") in diameter
