Description
A very unusual lantern indeed. I have not seen a FJ&G Dietz #6 bellbottom before. This Dietz #6 has the concentric ring version (older) on the very top. The later versions have a flat top. It is a standard fame with pinch pot and the fount has Dietz #6 embossed on it too. It has standard double horizontal wires and it is nice and clean. The globe is a New England style barrel that measures 3 3/4" diameter on the bottom, 2 3/4" diameter on the top and it has a visible area of 5 1/4". I didn't know that this type of globe would fit a Dietz #6 frame. This is an unusual New York shortline that was originally steam and it converted to electric in later years. This is a rare opportunity to get a "bragging rights" lantern.
