Description

A nice, unusual lantern made by Start Headlight for the Fonda Johnstown & Gloversville Railroad. This frame takes a standard #39 size globe. The frame has some nice features: lid latch retainer has two tiny rivets, fat initials stamped on the lid with distinctive lettering, flat bottom fount. There are some minor dings in the frame and it is dark in color. The globe is a very nice green with extended base. It's a heavy globe. It is not railroad marked. This is an unusual New York shortline that was originally steam and it converted to electric in later years. This is a rare opportunity to get a "bragging rights" lantern.
