Rare second edition extended and illustrated. In this important work the doctor and naturalist of Rimini exhibits his research in conchology: beautiful plates, drawn by Ercole Lelli and engraved by Carlo Antonio Pisarri, depicting shells, shellfish and corals of the Adriatic Sea.
The previous edition, a much smaller, containing only 5 tables. DBI: "Bianchi studied the extent and manner of the tides on the beach in Rimini and analyzed the debris of organic origin of sandy sediment in order to rinvenirvi living shells similar to fossil Ammonites ... The De Conchis remained critical to the long-knowledge of species of foraminifera and gave impetus to more extensive research in the field of nature studies. "
