SILVER CANDLESTICK PRESENTED TO A POLISH CANTOR
Antique silver candlestick, 13" tall, bears engraving upon its base in German: "The Dramburger Synagogue - Community to Cantor Simon Lewin for his Wedding on 11 April 1877". Heavily tarnished, some dents and repairs. Dramburg was in Lower Silesia, now Drawsk Pomorskie in Poland. During World War II, the SS established a large training school for motorcyclists and mechanics in Dramburg - undoubtedly all Jews were sent to their deaths.
