Early Plains Indian pipe tomahawk C. 1800. Found in the Turkey River near McClean, Iowa. One of the earliest forms of the American Spiked Tomahawk similar to examples seen and identified by Louis and Clark. Reversed cutting edge with numerous incised lines and tally marks on the bottom edge. Similar to Peterson No. 221. 5-1/2" long.
