Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery figures shown seated beneath large shawls, with one displaying buffware hues and a minimalist countenance while the larger figure is adorned with red and yellow pigment and wears a tall, conical headdress. Size of largest: 2.2" L x 3" W x 5.4" H (5.6 cm x 7.6 cm x 13.7 cm)
Provenance: private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, USA, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000

Condition
Each figure with minor nicks fading to pigment where applicable, and light earthen deposits, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to figural forms, and good manganese deposits.
