1970's Fenton Red Base Carnival Glass Mermaid Planter Made from a Verlys mold and first issued in amethyst in 1970-1972. Beautiful iridescent luminous color and wonderful details. When held up to sunlight the base color (an area of the item which had no mineral salts applied) appears red (especially on the sides -see photo). Embossed on the bottom with "Fenton" in an oval (logo used from 1970 until 1979. In near MINT condition with no cracks, chips or any damage. Completely clean inside and out. Height : 15.5 cm (6") Diameter 18 cm (7") Weight: 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs - 81.1 oz).
