A Fabergé Diamond, Ruby, and Gold-Mounted Bloodstone Box in the Baroque Taste Fabergé, Workmaster of Mikhail Perkhin, St. Petersburg before 1899 1-3/4 x 2 inches (4.4 x 5.1 cm) 90 grams (gross) The offered lot is an example of an objet de luxe in the German Baroque style, and is closely related to another bloodstone box by Perkhin formerly the property of a German Royal household and which is illustrated, Snowman A. K., Carl Fabergé: Goldsmith to the Imperial Court of Russia, Greenwich House: New York, 1979, p. 33, and which was sold, Christie's, New York, April 29, 1987, lot 118A. The offered lot differs from the other example by virtue of its thumbpiece centering a ruby with floral diamond side pieces, an inverse of the German Royal example.
