Seven Imperial Cloisonné Enameled and Niello Gilt Silver Spoons Various makers, various dates 1890-1917 6-1/4 inches (15.9 cm) (longest) 200 grams (gross) PROVENANCE: Presented to family members by Prince and Princess Vasili Alexandrovich between 1949-1959; Private Collection, California. A group of seven gilded silver, cloisonné, champlevé, and niello spoons, including two by Gustav Klingert, Moscow, two by Pavel Ovchinnikov, Moscow, one by Vladimir Soloviev, and the rest by various makers with marks. Zane family records indicate that individual spoons were given to various family members at different times between 1948-1958 by the Romanovs. These spoons were likely part of the pre-revolutionary Romanov family collection and given away over the years.
