A North German Boar-Spear Made For The Court Hunt Of Georg Wilhelm, Duke Of Brunswick and Lüneburg in Calenburg, Duke Of Saxe-Lauenburg (1624-1705) Late 17th Century, Almost Certainly Brunswick With broad leaf-shaped blade of hollowed diamond section, and robust tapering socket of octagonal section, on later wooden staff of octagonal section becoming circular and covered with a trellis of leather thongs (minor losses) secured by dome-headed nails, and with a staghorn toggle secured by a leather thong 35.5 cm. head Footnotes: Provenance Schloss Calle Schloss Marienburg The Dr. Peter Parsons Collection sold in these Rooms, 20 July 2011, lot 86 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
