Description
Goodyears early vulcanite Pat 1851 mechanical pencil. Early pencils such as this are known for being marked with just the patent from Goodyear, as he held the patent on the material in 1851. This pencil is likely made by Mabie Todd, it has an intricate chased design and gold finials, one that twists to reveal the pencil end. Length 3” and 3 7/8” fully extended. Overall excellent condition.
