Description
Clickit green marble unusual filling system fountain pen. The Clickit pen has a collar in the centre, this collar is turned so that the prongs line up, when the barrel extends in the centre and is then compressed you get a click, the sac expels the air inside and sucks up ink (when the nib is immersed in an ink bottle when filling). This is the later example which has a threaded knob on the end that is loosened off before filling. These pens are known to come in five colours, two different versions of the Clickit mechanism and in chrome or gold filled trim depending on the colour. This green marble example has a warranted 14K fine flexible nib (they typically came with plated or 14K warranted nibs) and chrome trim. Length 5 1/4“ and 6 3/8“ posted, filling mechanism Clickit fill (please see above). Overall good condition with some trim wear, celluloid is bright and the filling mechanism is intact. An uncommon pen, especially in this condition. ***Special thanks to Mike Walker & Pete Sacopulos for their article in Fall 2008 edition of The Pennant, “The Mysterious Clickit Fountain Pen”.
