American. Rattlesnake poster 1944. Production Punch poster unknown. The 'rattlesnake' poster was issued to warn of the dangers of discussing troop movements, ship sailings and war equipment. Signed by artist Albert Dorne with a historical note about the artist and the poster affixed to the back. The second poster was meant to unite the public to pack a punch against the "Jap" (either Hirohito or Tojo), "Blitz Fritz" (referring to Fritz Sauckel, Hitler's chief recruiter of slave labour during WWII) and "Muzzle Mussy" (referring to Benito Mussolini). Rattlesnake poster signed "Albert Dorne" at lower right of snake, "U.S. Government Printing Office: 1944-O-603532" at lower left, "Distributed For The Issuing Agencies By O.W.I." at lower right, "3398" in ink at lower left and various markings and stamps on reverse. Rap The Jap poster is marked "Wigton-Abbott Corporation" at lower center and "Copyright - Wm. F. Frank Printed by Kenny Press, Newark, N.J." at lower left.

Condition
Overall very good condition. Both show fold creases, with a one inch tape reinforcement to an edge tear.
