He cuddles up to his mother and pushes his cheek against hers. The Feodorovskaya strongly resembles the Vladimirskaya. The child's legs are folded almost at right angles, the left leg is bare to the knee and Mary's right hand is partly hidden in the fold's of Jesus' robe The icon is named after Michael Feodorov, the tsar who chose it to be the protective icon of his family.
