Rare 1921 Charles Rivet design, Bobin Freres Glassworks for Amiot, Secret d’Alcôve (Secret of the bed chamber), clear/frost glass perfume bottle and matching stopper, cord sealed, gold lacquered label with black lettering, gray patina. Triangular box, handmade paper covering, cherry red satin interior with Amiot Paris gilded labeling (minor perfume staining). 3 1/2 in.* Presentation illustrated in Bobin Freres catalog.* A. Amiot et Cie, a small perfume shop founded in 1862 at 68 rue de Rivoli, Paris. Very exclusive production, not sold in department stores and never exported. Business closed in 1930.* Charles Rivet – An unrecognized perfume bottle designer who’sconcepts were realized by Bobin Frères, Dépiniox, Société Parisienne de Verreries, Brosse, and other glass manufacturers. A recently discovered folio of Rivet design drawings identifies previously mistaken attributions to Viard, Gaillard, Daillet, Hamm and others.
