Item Details
Description
An Army Purple Heart in the original case, presented to Theodore B. Darrough who was twice wounded as indicated by the addition of the oak leaf device on the ribbon. Darrough served with the 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment and died in 1948. This medal, with its machine engraving, appears to have been issued in the 1980s, probably a reissue given to the family. Presented in the original case, fine.
