A watercolor on paper of a Colorado rural scene by Harold E. Keeler, dated 1938, signed lower right, 10 1/4 x 14 in. sight, 16 1/2 x 20 in. matted, condition very good. Harold Emerson Keeler (CO, WA, 1905-1968) Keeler was a native of Denver, Colorado. From 1928 to 1931 he studied at the University of Colorado and the Chicago Art Institute. Following his studies in Chicago, he moved to Denver where he worked for the Denver Art Museum where he designed and painted backdrops to exhibits; he also worked as a freelance lithographer. Keeler relocated to Seattle, WA in the 1940’s where he worked as an artist/lithographer for the Boeing Corporation. He is noted for his watercolors and lithographs.
