Description
A pair of US Letters Patents railroad inventions with design drawings and information, including patent No. 561,429 dated June 2, 1896 for Locomotive Circulating Exhaust Attachments issued to George H. Perry and William S. Hancock of California. The second patent No. 582,420 dated May 11, 1897 for Railroad Weed-Burner issued to George A. Hancock of Galveston Texas. Hancock was superintendent of motive power for the St. Louis?San Francisco Railway/Frisco System for many years. Both patents have the seal affixed and are signed by the Secretary of Interior. The Weed Burner patent also includes a correspondence letter of acknowledgement. Both shows general wear from age with discoloration, corner wear, creasing, and ribbon wear.
