Civil War framed memorial of Company D 11th New York Cavalry also known as Scott's 900 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry. Published in 1863 by Joseph Miller. This particular memorial belonged to Oliver Graft of Potsdam, New York and a private in Co. D. His personal history was written on the back of the memorial by his g-g granddaughter and includes that he was captured at Doyal's Plantation, Louisiana, lost his left eye and was discharged in 1864. The memorial measures 22" x 17" and is housed in a 25" x 22" Civil War period frame. Company D was recruited at Canton, Colton, Pitcairn, Potsdam and Ogdensburg, New York.
