Excellent condition.A stunning recreation of one of the craziest covers of the pre-Code era, originally drawn by Lee Elias, and flawlessly duplicated in Day-Glo glory by proto power-pop-punker Cyril Jordan of the Flamin' Groovies rock band. See the little gears and whirligigs flying from the guy's exploding kisser? That was Harvey's way of distancing themselves from their own ultraviolence – after all, who could get upset about a malfunctioning robot? It's the ultimate cymical dodge, both ingenious and disingenuous – the comic book equivalent of burlesque queens wearing flesh-colored pasties to circumvent decency laws.
