Description: Painted by Cyril Jordan in hand-mixed fluorescent paints, image area 11.5" x 16" on 16" x 20" stretched canvas, signed "Cyril Jordan" in the bottom right margin. Excellent condition.Cyril Jordan, lead guitarist of the legendary San Francisco proto-punk band The Flamin' Groovies, is a longtime EC and pre-Code horror enthusiast and an accomplished self-taught visual artist. When he's not touring with the re-formed Groovies lineup, Cyril likes to paint, mixing his own pigments in order to achieve unique color effects. His latest passion project is recreating classic pre-Code covers using hand-mixed fluorescent paints, thus merging the "black light" effect of 1970s psychedelic posters with the pop aesthetic of 1950s funnybooks.

In this morbid masterpiece, Cyril recreates Bill Everett's cover to Adventures Into Weird Worlds #22, featuring a depraved-looking vampire absconding with a sexy blonde, in our opinion one of Atlas's top five pre-Code covers. The grotesque vampire, flitting over a moonlit metropolis, seems like an agent of ancient evils returning to plague mankind with forgotten terrors.
