A massive lidded bowl of museum importance, Moscow, Karl Fabergé, 1894Gilt silver. Mounted on four rocaille feet. Rotund, tapered body, surrounding décor of chased rocailles and roses in distinct relief. Press-in lid with matching decoration. Broad rocaille knob. The bottom punched with city mark, mark of fineness "88", inspection mark Anatoly Apollonovich Artsybashev "AA 1894" and master’s mark "K. Faberge" with court purveyor’s mark as well as incised inventory number "4823". Lid re-punched (French import mark after 1893). The bottom with seven small drilled holes. Slight traces of use.
