Description
A large Chinese foo dog as an incense burner made of bronze, Qing Dynasty, 18th centuryHeavy, elaborately crafted figure of a sitting foo dog. Under his paw an openwork xiuqiu (ball), raised tail and massive head turned to the left. The hinged head can be folded to the side and houses the stove to burn the incense. The body is hollow and serves as a vessel for herbs and frankincense, respectively. On wooden base. The black lacquer is slightly rubbed here and there. Minor losses. Height ca. 50 cm.Condition: II
