Friedrich von Frankenberg und Proschlitz - two medal bars, Napoleonic Wars/Franco-Prussian EraFive-piece medal bar consisting of 1813 Iron Cross 2nd Class measuring 42.96 x 46.99 mm with the integral ring, Hohenzollern Commemorative Medal for Combatants 1848-1849, Prussian 25 Year Long Service Cross for Officers and the Russian Order of Saint Vladimir in Gold 4th Class with bow denoting bravery. A truly wonderful early Prussian medal bar.A fine six-piece medal bar of Prussian Cross of Merit in Gold with silver center, Prussian Cross of General Honour in Silver with gold center, Prussian General Honour medal in solid silver, Prussian 25 Year Long Service Cross, Prussian 1870-71 War Commemorative medal made from captured cannons with three bars that read "BEAUMONT", "SEDAN" and "PARIS", and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial medal. Medals and ribbons with minor wear and staining consistent with age and wear. The five-piece medal bar generally shows tarnish and patina commensurate with age, the suspension ring on the Iron Cross has a period repair. There is some enamel wear and loss to the St. Vladimir Order due to rubbing on other medals. The ribbons of six-piece medal bar show very minor wear but some soiling.Friedrich Heinrich von Frankenberg und Proschlitz served in the Prussian army from 1809 until 1851 where upon retirement he was promoted to Lieutenant General. Firstly, he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in 1809 and subsequently was promoted to 1st Lieutenant four years later while serving in the Brandenburg Artillery Brigade. In 1814, he transferred to the Guard Artillery Brigade where he was promoted to Captain in 1816. In early 1817, he was serving on the staff of the General Inspector of Artillery, Prince August of Prussia, where he was advanced to Adjutant that same year. He was promoted to Major in 1826 and served from 1827 to 1841 as Commander of the Guard Artillery Brigade. In 1841, now a Colonel, he took command of the 8th Artillery Brigade. In 1844, he was promoted to Inspector of the 1st Artillery and his final promotion during active service came in 1847 when he was advanced to Major General. USA lot - more info hereCondition: II
